The convergence of Communications: The next step to increase productivity>>
The open nature of SIP makes it an ideal basis for various multimedia communication applications such as VoIP, conferencing, messaging and presence. However, the same openness makes it vulnerable to denial of service attacks. In this presentation we will first present various loopholes in SIP that would allow an attacker to launch a denial of service attack on SIP. In a second step, different mechanisms for detecting such attacks will be described. Finally, we will look at the requirements for an overall architecture that provides the necessary means for detecting and then preventing attacks on SIP servers. Dr. Dorgham Sisalem, Tekelec

Breakout Sessions Carriers / Enterprise>>
Breakout Session Carrier (Room 1): Fixed Mobile Convergence
FMC is a development that dissolves barriers, enables ubiquitous access and makes more efficient use of network resources. It involves a unified core network, multi-radio terminals, access networks that complement each other and common service delivery platforms. Therefore we now have an environment in which fixed and mobile network operators compete fiercely for business and consumer minutes.
Moderator: Tim Ward, Sonus Networks Panel Members: Claudio Adriani, Elitel Ivo Remmelg, Telegrupp Nigel Dye, BT Global Services

Breakout Session Carrier (Room 1): IPTV
The operator’s ability to efficiently distribute, deliver and manage new services in real-time comes from designing solutions platforms integrated on their broadband network. Will household networks need to be managed by the service provider to support these services and overcome obstacles such as firewall traversal?

IMS for enterprises No matter where the communications service is produced, in the enterprise or at the service provider, the enterprise needs to be able to handle the SIP traffic traversal of the enterprise firewall. This goes for IMS as well as other forms of SIP-based applications. When IMS becomes ubiquitous, IMS traversal of the enterprise firewall will become a widespread issue. This session will cover available solutions and the technologies required to solve this issue. 17.30 - 18.00 Bruno Alonso Plaza, BT Global Services Convergence for multinational companies 'Convergence' is the integration of voice, data and video in information technology services creating a whole new world of opportunities in the workplace. There are many ways in which companies are considering how convergence can help their day-to-day business; network convergence, device convergence, system convergence and organisational convergence are just some.
BT Global Services is supporting the international expansion of multinational companies with seamless services all around the world. A totally managed environment so companies can focus on services and productivity and not in technology.
