He has 14 years of experience in the Telecoms Sector. Before joining the European Commission, he worked as a Signal Troops officer in the Armed Forces in Belgium and as a Voice over IP consultant in Cisco Systems.

Christian Wieser is currently on his way to receive the PhD and works at the Secure Programming Group (OUSPG) in Oulu, Finland. His interest lies in the area of vulnerability research - particular in the area of Voice over IP networks. You might remember the advisories from work stemming from his VoIP robustness suite http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2003-06.html. Since this time his interest in describing and preventing risks in VoIP has even more increased. When he is not skiing in the hills around Oulu, he enjoys a good, steamy sauna during the dark times of the Finnish winter.
Claudio Adriani has spent more than twenty-seven years in the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) industry, where he has been always dealing with innovation and advanced technologies for mission critical solutions and services. Mr. Adriani began his professional career in 1979 joining the Olivetti group at its headquarters in Ivrea, Italy, where he held different positions at corporate and group’s company level, including that of Director, Corporate Technology Strategies, Head of System Offer Architecture, and Networking & Communications Product Planning Manager in research and development. Previously he was leading the VoIP, IMS, and security activities at the Fraunhofer Institute Fokus, Berlin, Germany. He has been in the VoIP arena since 1995, and has been involved in various research and development activities in the areas of QoS, security, and multimedia communication. He holds a Ph.D. in engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, and has more than 40 papers in conferences and journals in the area of VoIP and QoS.Further, Dr. Sisalem was the co-founder of iptelorg. Iptelorg has provided an open source implementation of SIP known as the SIP Express Router “SER” which is used by many VoIP provides all over the world as the basis for their VoIP platform.

With a early start in computer security at the age of 15 Ejovi has worked as a developer for the secure operating system OpenBSD, audits code for the largest software companies and government agencies and is constantly on the lecture circuit teaching executives around the world about the importance of auditing and education in a secure environment.
Ejovi who started as a developer later went on to join the security group at Lehman, Core-SDI and @Stake before finally founding Securitylab as a consultancy in 2003. Since then he’s expanded the company to include information and auditing products.

Dr Mike Hollier has been a technical pioneer and commercial champion for perceptual engineering over the last 14 years. Between 1987 and 1999 he held a number of positions within BT, finally directing their research into audio, video and multi-media performance assessment. His PhD was gained from the University of Essex for his work on using models of human hearing to predict speech quality. Technical capability was demonstrated when Mike’s team set the new ITU-T world standard for speech quality assessment in 2000. During 2000 Psytechnics was incubated as a potential spin-out from BT - attracting investment from 3i. Mike left BT in December 2000 to become the CEO of Psytechnics Ltd. Psytechnics have 18 licensees and are poised to become a significant global player providing essential performance information for the design and management of Next-Generation-Networks. Since October 2002 Mike has been the CTO at Psytechnics acting as their technology evangelist and overseeing the research and development of a new generation of voice and video products. Dr Hollier is a Chartered Engineer, a fellow of the University of Essex and member of the IOA and AES.
Natan Tiefenbrun joined XConnect, an industry leading provider of VoIP peering services based on ENUM, as COO after spending thirteen years working in financial markets at Instinet, an operator of electronic equity markets and provider of electronic and traditional brokerage services to institutional money managers and hedge funds. Working in both London and New York, Natan serviced the firm’s most sophisticated clients, was responsible for developing new products and services, and ultimately served as President of the firm’s European and Asian businesses.
Nigel K J Dye has been involved in many successful projects in BT, in both the corporate and telecom sectors. For many years a customer of BT in Amadeus and Siemens, he joined BT Syncordia in 2000, then BT Exact. At present he in Global Telecom Markets focusing on transformational and ICT services for the carrier sector.
Nigel has some 20 years experience of outsourcing and business transformation projects focussed on the delivery of electronic products, outsourcing and managed services. His experience is truly global with a track record of successful projects in China, Asia, Latin America, US and Europe.
During his career Nigel has experienced many changes in the industry; in the underlying technologies, infrastructures, business uses and business models. He has led outsourcing projects from both the demand and the supply sides. Olle is an active Asterisk developer and an active member of the Asterisk community. He has writen many documenation pages, fixed many bugs in the SIP support of Asterisk and added quite a lot of new functions to Asterisk during the years. Olle is a member of the Asterisk Advisory Council and works on a daily basis with Asterisk in service provider networks. Olle also has a position as Asterisk evangelist and senior technical adviser with Voop, a European VoIP service provider.

Peter Weik graduated in "Industrial Engineering and Management Science" at the University of Karlsruhe, Germany with specific emphasis on Telematics and Telecommunication networks. He joined the team "Next Generation Network Infrastructures" of Prof. Dr. Magedanz in 2003 as undergraduate student and is today working as a PhD student. He is actively involved in the realization and development of the Open IMS Playground and in various national and international research projects. He published and presented several papers on international conferences, supports lectures at the Technical University of Berlin and supervises several master thesis with the chair for Next Generation Networks at the TU Berlin.
