FTTH Forum 2009: New Speakers confirmed !

Dear Colleague,

The FTTH Forum 2009 delivers 4 dedicated streams on Regulatory Issues, Business Models, Broadband Deployment and Rural FTTx as well as our Analysts Panel.

One of the best speaker line-up's ever in a European FTTx event will enable you to be best positioned in the tomorrow's broadband world by identifying the fibre strategies of municipalities, telcos and utilities.

Today let me just highlight one special conference session, which is especially interesting, if you are coming from a regulator, a municipality, a utility company, a Telco Operator or if you are an IT-consultant:

FTTX Operator Business Models & Case Studies

This session will present real case studies and will show how to implement and profit from FTTx environments. Here delegates will understand, where and how to pay attention in developing realisic plans for FTTx businesses:

* Ger Bakker, Founder and CTO of UNET, a telecommunication services provider and one of the fibre technology pioneers in The Netherlands, will present about:

FTTx architecture - different requirements for FTTH and FTTB networks.

In this presentation Ger will analyse the requirements on different designs for FTTH and FTTB networks.

* Paolo Dal Bono from Telecom Italia will present about:

Telecom Italia domestic NGN2: Updated development plan & first deployment experiences.

In 2008 Telecom Italia started a technical trial of its NGN2 in the Milan area; in 2009 the deployment will continue the in the Rome area. The installation activity carried out is bringing a large experience focusing on the main critical aspects. Many important issues have been discussed within the regulatory field too. This new knowledge, together with some new technological considerations, has allowed Telecom Italia to delineate possible different deployment scenarios

* Dirk van der Woude, Program Manager of the Municipal Broadband Policy of Amsterdam and Frans-Anton Vermast, Public and International Affairs Citynet and Director of INEC – a worldwide organisation of ten cities with fibre from the home with municipality involvement will introduce us to one of the most successful and largest FTTH communities in Europe:

Creating Successful 21st Century Communities.

They will focus on:
