Agnès HUET is the CEO of the company CDS (Comptoir des Signaux) - she created 20 years ago – and which is a consultancy firm in telecommunications to local and regional authorities in France and Europe. For 20 years, the CDS is at the edge of projects for fiber optic networks. Agnes Huet has been giving lectures and publishing articles that show the state of the art in networks in the world. The last one has been published in the review “FUTURIBLES” March 2007.

Albert is Technology Officer FTTH for the  Amsterdam-based optical fibre technology and network solutions specialist Draka Communications.

Albert Worked for Draka in R&D and was subsequently International Product manager for Optical Fibre Cables. After a period as Quality Assurance Manager with local telecoms company KPN , he worked in the Telecom Sales department as Key Account Manager. He was Managing Director of NetShare Nederland BV and Sales Director FTTH – projects

Albert Grooten holds a MS degree in Materials Engineering of Delft Technical University. He is currently serving as Committee Chairman of the Economics Sub Committee of the FTTH Council Europe.

André Merigoux is Public Affairs Director within Global Governement & Public Affairs Paris HQ Office. He has been closely involved in public policy and regulatory debates on Very High Speed/Next Generation Access networks both at European and French level.

André previously worked in Alcatel's mobile phone division as Head of Environmental and Regulatory Affairs Department. Before joining Alcatel, he held various positions in French electrical consumer goods industry association.

André was graduated in political sciences and international affairs at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Strasbourg.

Born in 1977, Vasa, Finland and graduated 2001 from Swedish Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Science degree in Production Economics. Worked as Project Manager for ABB New Ventures GmBH for two and a half year before moving into telecommunications and broadband in 2003. First as Project Manager and later as CEO for Dynamo Net. Has run several projects rolling out fiber networks in rural areas. A member of the board of the Finnish Regional Networks Association since 2006.

Antonino (Toni) Ciccardi is responsible of “Architectures for FTTx Access Network” Project at Telecom Italia; he currently works in the Fixed Access and Transport Department, Innovation Area; in particular he leads activities related to architecture definition and selection within the Next Generation Network deployment programs.
Previously he has covered many roles such as Project Leader of a Hardware development project in the embedded security field and as Manager of Networking and DWDM Systems Area.
He directly collaborated in 2000 to design and roll-out a Start-up company focused in Co-Location & Application Infrastructure Services for Italian market.
He is Project Management Professional (PMP®) certified.

Benoit Cosandey brings to Sierre Energie over 10 years of experience in telecommunication.  For the last 5 years, he moved Sierre Energie  from a traditional very local MSO with a CATV department to a trend-setter of triple-play offering over FTTH in Europe.

BC started at Sierre-Energie at the time of the launch of its first Internet access  over cable offering. In charge of the network, he watched closely its usage to find out rapidely that on the long term only fiber will provide enough room for customer gusto. He pushed the totally disruptive challenge: It would be only fiber, it would be only ethernet.

Before his stay at Sierre-Energie, BC worked for ABB where he was sent abroad to deploy fiber optic communication network in very diverse country like Columbia, Ghana, Poland, Thailand among others.

Severely injured at the age of 25, BC had to rebuild its life and career from scratch. Back to school, he graduated with mention.

- Chinyelu Onwurah

As Head of Telecom's Technology in Ofcom Chinyelu has focused on the implications for competition and regulation of the services and technologies associated with Next Generation Networks. Prior to Ofcom, Chinyelu was a Partner in Hammatan Ventures, a US technology consultancy, developing the GSM markets in Nigeria and South Africa. Previously she was Director of Market Development with Teligent, a Global Wireless Local Loop operator and has also worked for Cable & Wireless and Nortel. Chinyelu is a Chartered Engineer with a BEng in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College and an MBA from Manchester Business School. She a member of the International Advisory Board of the Open University Business School.

Since 2004, Dr. Eric Heitzer is the responsible director for regulatory & public affairs at ALICE/HanseNet Telekommunication GmbH. HanseNet, Germany´s No. 3 in the fixed telecommunication market offers all broadband services to private and business customers namely tv, internet and telephony.

Before Dr. Heitzer joined HanseNet´s management board, he took responsibility for regulatory affairs of the cable network operator ISH (today: Unity Media) in Cologne. Previously, from 1998 until 2000, he belonged to the management of Interoute Telecom in Frankfurt. Dr. Heitzer started his career in 1997 as attorney at law in Aachen.

Dr. Heitzer holds a banking diploma from the Westdeutsche Landesbank and a PGD from the university of Bonn. Dr. Heitzer is at home in Aachen. He is married and has 4 children.

Frank Phillipson MSc PDEng (1973) studied econometrics at the 'Vrije Universiteit' in Amsterdam. In 1996 he joined the Technical University of Delft to follow the Post-Doctoral course 'Mathematical Design Engineering' with much attention to the application of Operations Research techniques on networks.
In 1998, he joined KPN Research (which became TNO Information and Communication Technology, January 2003). He is particularly working in the field of designing planning algorithms of ICT/Telecom networks. Next to this main topic he did projects on financial and economic models regarding telecom business. This provides him a good overview in both technical as economic impact of ICT and telecom network planning and dimensioning.

- Hartwig Tauber

Hartwig Tauber, 36, is director general of the FTTH Council Europe. He has more than ten years of experience in the broadband and ICT fields. Hartwig Tauber worked as a consultant and managed several national and international broadband projects in Austria, and he is a member of the ICT Taskforce of the Austrian government. In 2003 he became professor for e-business management at the IMC University of Applied Sciences in Krems. Hartwig Tauber holds a masters degree in economics and informatics from the University of Vienna and a postgraduate masters degree in telematics management from the Danube University Krems.

Hassan M. Claussen has been working in the Telecoms and IT market for over 15 years. In the early 90’s, Hassan was heading sales & marketing operations in Hamburg (Germany) for one of the largest IT Consultants, Telemation (acquired in 2000 by Dimension Data).
In Portugal since 1996, Hassan started a new career in business development, training and consulting with international training experts, ComGlobal. During this time he provided valuable services to many individuals and enterprises in the area of IT and Telecommunications. The business he worked with was recognized for many years as a leading IT Consultant.
After 17 years experience in the Telecoms and IT markets, Hassan M. Claussen founded HanseCom Media & Communication in November 2004.
With HanseCom he is now working in the event management and organization industry specializing in the telecommunications and IT industry. Together with his team, Hassan focuses his expertise in developing profitable events, handling projects from design and research, to marketing and sales, through to speaker acquisitions and management running up to and on the day of an event.

- Jochen Spangenberg

Jochen Spangenberg joined Deutsche Welle in early 2003. After holding the position of Strategy Development Manager at DW-WORLD, the Online Service of Deutsche Welle, he moved to the Distribution Directorate in early 2006. There, he has been working in Strategy Development and runs the broadcaster's innovation projects. Previously to his work for Deutsche Welle, Jochen worked for BBC Radio and TV and, thereafter, in the commercial (new) media sector where he held positions as Head of Media Consulting, Chief Operating Officer and Editor-in-Chief. In addition to his work for DW, Jochen lectures at various universities and is a frequent contributor to issues of digital media production and delivery.

Joeri Van Bogaert was elected president of the FTTH Council Europe in April 2007. Alongside his role at the Council, Mr Van Bogaert occupies a senior management position with LEONI NBG Fiber Optics GmbH, an Austrian systems house focused on the development and deployment of FTTH networks. LEONI NBG Fiber Optics is 100% owned by LEONI AG.

Joeri Van Bogaert graduated in 1991 in Ghent, Belgium, witha major in Electronics and Telecommunication. He has held senior management positions with several renowned telecommunication vendors, where his focus has been on national and international commercial activities.

Joeri Van Bogaert has been active in the FTTH Council Europe since 2005, becoming a member of the Board of Directors in 2006.

Miguel-Angel Acero is Telecommunications Engineer (1990, Polytechnic University of Barcelona, Spain).
During 8 years he was Remote Control and  Communications Manager of the Catalonia and Aragon area of Red Electrica de España, Network Operator of the National Electricity System.
From 1999 to 2005 he was the Network Operations Manager of different Operators in the Auna Group (Auna was the second fixed operator in Spain since it was acquired by ONO in 2005).
Since 2005 he is Partner Director and member of the Board of Directors of Aggaros.
He is an expert on Network Operations, especially on fiber networks (backbone networks based on  SDH and xDWM and FTTx Access networks), Process definition and implementation of Operational Plans.
In Aggaros he has participated in different projects of assessment of operations processes and implementation of Operational plans based on eTOM standard in different type of operators.
Since 2006 he has been the Project Manager of the deployment of the FTTH network in Asturias and the definition of a new Public Operator.
Now is also the President of Aggaros Americas, a new company for the Latin-American market based in Santiago de Chile.

- Rafael Sánchez

Rafael Sánchez holds a scientific master (2008) by University Carlos III of Madrid and is a telecommunications engineer (1996) by Polytechnic University of Valencia. Since 1996, he is involved in multiple telecommunication projects in areas like optical networks (SDH/DWDM), IPTV, digital transmission, broadband access (triple-play) and Carrier Ethernet in companies like Lucent Technologies (1996-2000) and Nortel. Currently, he works for Nortel as business development senior manager in the Carrier Ethernet and fiber access businesses.

- Roland Montagne

Roland Montagne joined IDATE in 1998 and he is now Head of Broadband Practice at IDATE. Mr Montagne played a leading role in previous IDATE International studies and is also Project Manager for the IDATE annual market report concerning World Broadband Access Market. He has carried out several studies dealing with European Broadband roll out and he is in charge actually of a Survey on Broadband Access for the DGInfSo. Since 2004 Roland Montagne is also the project leader for the FTTH Council Europe European FTTH projects panorama. In 2006, he achieved a major study for the French Government on scenarios for deploying Very High Broadband networks in France (cost model and Government options). Roland Montagne also carried out several strategic analyses focused on US and Asian developing FTTH markets. Recently, he has been also involved on FTTH cost model analysis for the United Kingdom as well as best practice study looking at fibre indoor deployments as well as ducts sharing. In 2008 Roland is leading an annual worldwide FTTx watch service proposed by IDATE
Roland Montagne is a Telecommunications Engineer (ENST Paris, 1994) and received a Master on Electronics (University Paris 6, 1994). He also worked for AT&T Bell laboratories (USA) as Engineer on DWDM Optical Networks and ATM technologies. He started his carrier in the France Telecom R&D labs working on optical communications.

Current projects include being interim CEO of a new wireless mobile broadband operator in Ireland and launching a voice servie targeted at Poles living in England.  Stefan is a also an angel investor in telecom technology companies such as all fibre true broadband operator Riksnet in Sweden. He is a Founder of FTTx consultants Ventura Team and is currently consulting to two FTTx projects in the Middle East – one utility backed, the other ISP backed.

Stefan has extensive experience throughout the telecom industry helping Boards, senior managers and regulators to make critical decisions in both fixed and mobile telecoms, his work has encompassed all aspects of telecommunications strategy, business development and litigation as well as participating in some $100 billion worth of telecom financings or acquisitions.

Stefan was the third person to join Analysys and played a major role in its growth from start-up into a globally respected advisory firm. In particular Stefan developed the finance practice that within 5 years of launch had achieved market leadership in due diligence and other transaction support to major West European telecom financings based on its reputation for quality, insight and absolute integrity.
