   The RCTS is a computing network, run by FCCN, that makes use of the Internet protocols to guarantee a collaboration and communication platform among educational, scientific, technological and cultural institutions. This networks connencts almost all higher education institutions as well as public elementary and secondary schools. In this context, FCCN started in 2004 a VoIP project aiming to deploy advanced VoIP services to its constituency. With a very practical perspective, several Universities are starting to trial and gain confidence with VoIP technologies. This presentation will also cover progress and major constrains at this point.
