Anwar Siddiqui

Anwar's areas of interest include call processing in IP networks,
communication support for distributed systems, and communication
protocols for the Internet, such as SIP/H.323, Enterprise Applications
in Wi-Fi Networks, IP/IEEE/3G network agnostic applications, Presence
Aware networks, Network Monitoring & Fault Tolerance, QOS, Network
Security and Privacy, and OA&M.
Anwar joined Lucent Technologies - Bell Laboratories in 1998 and
conducted research on the first generation of Voice over IP call
processing systems. In 2000, he joined Avaya Labs Converged Systems
Division where he was awarded Distinguished Member of the Technical
Staff for his contribution in development of Avaya’s Enterprise Class
VoIP Systems and various other Real-Time Communication Systems widely
used by Fortune 500 companies worldwide.
Anwar Siddiqui holds a Masters degree from Columbia University in the
City of New York in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor degree from
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) – Bombay. He holds numerous
patents in the field of computer communication, network security and
privacy, QoS etc. He is an active contributor to Internet Engineering
Task Force (IETF) and author of various IETF standard specifications.
He is also a frequently invited speaker in a variety of venues across
North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, including prominent technology
events and conferences.
Anwar Siddiqui is currently a Technical Manager of the Avaya Chief
Technology Office (CTO) in Lincroft, New Jersey. He is responsible for
identifying emerging technologies that are strategic to the
implementation of Avaya’s converged communication vision.

researching information security issues
in security-critical environments. His work at Codenomicon and at the
OUSPG (University of Oulu) aims to

quality in networked software. Ari Takanen is one of the people behind the PROTOS research that studied information
security and reliability errors in e.g.
WAP, SNMP, LDAP and SIP implementations. His company, Codenomicon Ltd.

Previously,
he was Senior Market Development manager for the VoIP and SS7 market segments
where he managed strategic direction and business investments for Brooktrout Formerly,
he was senior SS7 product manager at Brooktrout, providing specialist product
knowledge to the sales, marketing and support teams. Prior to joining Brooktrout, Redmill was Marketing Manager at
Telesoft Technologies, where he spent five years, experiencing the complete
life cycle of Telesoft's products, from development through to installation and
product validation. Mr
Redmill holds a MSc from Bath University and a BSc from Leeds University.

Dr. Henry Sinnreich

Dr.
Henry Sinnreich is
an MCI Fellow. Operating in more than 65 countries, MCI is a premier provider
of facilities-based and fully integrated local, long distance, international
and Internet services. Dr. Sinnreich has held at MCI various engineering and executive
positions working on lightwave systems, digital cross-connects, lab testing and
vendor product evaluation/integration and in telephony switch systems
engineering. Dr. Sinnreich has worked on Internet and web services since 1993
and has initiated multimedia and voice projects based on standards developed in
the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), where he is an active contributor,
having authored several IETF drafts.
Dr.
Sinnreich has received the award of Pioneer in Telephony at the June 2000 Voice
On the NET conference, VON Europe 2000 in Stockholm.
Dr.
Sinnreich is a founding member on the board of directors of the International
SIP Forum based in Stockholm, Sweden.
Dr.
Sinnreich is frequent speaker at various conferences and his book "Internet
Communications Using SIP" co-authored with Alan B. Johnston published by
John Wiley is considered the reference on IP communications. Dr. Sinnreich has
been recently featured on the cover page of the VON Magazine as the ‘Godfather
of SIP’.
Henry Sinnreich
is a contributor to the SIP based MCI Advantage flagship service design and is
currently working on new features to extend the reach and appeal to customers
of MCI Advantage.
Henry’s
current focus is on extending MCI IP communications beyond VoIP to mobility
services, IP based presence, instant messaging, multimedia and using the SIP
events architecture to integrate communications and IT applications for the
enterprise market. Henry is also going back to his roots as a microwave radio
engineer by participating in the MCI evaluation and planning of new mobile
services.

the Multimedia Communication program at Ellemtel, an Ericsson and Telia jointly

consultant with American Management Systems in Fairfax, USA. Mr. Lundström has

Directorate.
In this role, his primary responsibilities include
- Coordination of studies on technical, political and regulatory developments
on systems, markets, services and equipment convergence issues;
- Strategic adviser of the Board on future regulatory measures and actions to
be taken by the Regulatory Agency;
- Coordinator of beauty contests: UMTS, Digital Video Broadcasting Network,
FWA;
- National Representation in: DigTAG, ONP-DVB, DVB Forum, ITU – Convergence and
Regulation, DG XIII, e-Content Program;
- Coordination of several public consultations on “Convergence and Regulation”,
“Consumers” and “Information Society”.
Before, Dr. Soares de Freitas held the position of Director of Licensing
and Market Monitoring. Before joining Anacom in 1998, he held several functions
as a board member in some leading Telecommunication enterprises.

Miguel Araújo Lopes

Miguel Araújo Lopes is Vice President, Marketing & Product Management at Altitude Software, since 2000. In this role he supports Sales in 10 AS offices globally, leverages their experience into R&D directions, and has driven Altitude Software to be ranked as visionary (and only global independent company) in Gartner’s EMEA CIM Magic Quadrant. Before joining Altitude, he managed contact center product lines and teams in ROLM, USA and Siemens Information and Communication Networks AG, Germany. Mr. Lopes has a deep experience in the CRM industry and international tenure of 6 years in Silicon Valley and 3 years in Germany. Mr. Lopes took part in ITU’s CTI standards definition of the CSTA phase III. Mr. Lopes and Siemens colleagues won a Top50 Worldwide Innovation Competition with RésuméRouting (now HiPath ProCenter), which won several industry awards and a patent on advanced skills based routing. Mr. Lopes has been a speaker at CeBIT, CRM Europe, ICCM, ComputerTelephony, IDC.
He earned his MBA at Santa Clara University, USA and his B.S. in EE/CS from Instituto Superior Técnico, in Lisbon.

Dr. Mike Hollier

Dr Mike Hollier has been a technical pioneer and commercial champion
for perceptual engineering over the last 14 years. Between 1987 and 1999 he
held a number of positions within BT, finally directing their research into
audio, video and multi-media performance assessment. His PhD was gained from
the University of Essex for his work on using models of human hearing to
predict speech quality. Technical capability was demonstrated when Mike’s team
set the new ITU-T world standard for speech quality assessment in 2000. During
2000 Psytechnics was incubated as a potential spin-out from BT - attracting
investment from 3i. Mike left BT in December 2000 to become the CEO of
Psytechnics Ltd. Psytechnics have 18 licensees and are poised to become a
significant global player providing essential performance information for the
design and management of Next-Generation-Networks. Since October 2002 Mike has
been the CTO at Psytechnics acting as their technology evangelist and
overseeing the research and development of a new generation of voice and video
products. Dr Hollier is a Chartered Engineer, a fellow of the University of
Essex and member of the IOA and AES.

operational experience with Voice over IP. In his last position at B2 Bredband
AB, the 2nd larges broadband operator in Sweden, he was responsible for the
setup and operations of the 1st line local loop replacement services to
approximately 300.000 customers. Thomas studied at the Erasmus University in
Rotterdam and at the London School of Economics.
