Jon "maddog" Hall is the Executive Director of Linux International (www.li.org), an association of computer users who wish to support and promote the Linux Operating System. During his career in commercial computing which started in 1969, Mr. Hall has been a programmer, systems designer, systems administrator, product manager, technical marketing manager and educator.
He has worked for such companies as Western Electric Corporation, Aetna Life and Casualty, Bell Laboratories, Digital Equipment Corporation, VA Linux Systems, and SGI. He currently works as an independent consultant.
Mr Hall has worked on many systems, both proprietary and open, having concentrated on Unix systems since 1980 and Linux systems since 1994, when he first met Linus Torvalds and correctly recognized the commercial importance of Linux and Free and Open Source Software.
He has taught at Hartford State Technical College, Merrimack College and Daniel Webster College.
Mr. Hall is the author of numerous magazine and newspaper articles, many presentations and one book, "Linux for Dummies".
Mr. Hall has consulted with the governments of China, Malaysia and Brasil as well as the United Nations and many local and state governments on the use of Free and Open Source Software.
Mr. Hall serves on the boards of several companies, and several non-profit organizations.
Mr. Hall has traveled the world speaking on the benefits of Open Source Software, and received his BS in Commerce and Engineering from Drexel University, and his MSCS from RPI in Troy, New York.
Adrian Georgescu is Founder and CEO of AG Projects. Based in the Netherlands, AG Projects is a leading European company supplying service providers with turnkey SIP infrastructure systems. Adrian is an advocate of IETF standards, member of OpenSER management board, founder and co-chair of the Dutch ISOC SIP Special Interest Group. Prior to starting of his own company, Adrian had accumulated experience with Tomrad Communications, Esprit Telecom, GTS, Ebone and KPNQwest. Adrian's expertise is the design of high-availability infrastructures, addressing and numbering systems, signaling protocols, provisioning and mediation systems, implementation of disaster recovery plans. Adrian has received in 1996 a degree in Electrical Engineering from Faculty of Electrotechnics at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Romania
Mr. Ari Takanen is founder and CTO of Codenomicon Ltd. He is a distinctive member of the global security testing community and a regular speaker at various testing and security conferences. His professional background is on academic software security testing research, where he has been active since 1998.
Artur studied Informatic Engineering at Tecnico (IST) and is working with Nokia for more than 10 years. 3 years he held positions at the Nokia satellite area and the rest in Mobile Phones area making several functions from customer care until commercial roles.
Barry Shrier is the Founder and Chief Executive of The Liberty Europe Network, a group of businesses focusing on Wireless Internet expansion throughout the EU. Previously, Barry was hired by Deutsche Bank to launch Paybox, the world’s first international mobile payment system. Barry was the spokesman for Paybox and a leading speaker on Mobile commerce. Prior to Deutsche Bank, Barry worked for several strategic marketing consultancies where he developed his expertise in the application of cognitive psychology to understand consumer behavior. He managed various international projects for Unilever, Guinness, Procter & Gamble, Mars & Nestle.
Christian Wieser is currently on his way to receive the PhD and works at the Secure Programming Group (OUSPG) in Oulu, Finland. His interest lies in the area of vulnerability research - particular in the area of Voice over IP networks. You might remember the advisories from work stemming from his VoIP robustness suite http://www.cert.org/advisories/CA-2003-06.html. Since this time his interest in describing and preventing risks in VoIP has even more increased. When he is not skiing in the hills around Oulu, he enjoys a good, steamy sauna during the dark times of the Finnish winter.
Claudio Adriani has a long-standing experience in the Information & Communication Technology (ICT) industry, where he has been always dealing with innovation and advanced technologies for mission critical solutions and services. Mr. Adriani began his professional career in 1979 joining the Olivetti group at its headquarters in Ivrea, Italy, where he held different positions at corporate and group’s company level, including that of Corporate Technology Strategies Director, Head of System Offer Architecture, Marketing Director and Product Planning Manager for the Networking & Communications offerings. More recently, before joining WiTech, he was also Chief Technology Officer at Elitel, an alternative telecom operator in Italy, Vice President, Solution Development at Unisys, Head of Internet Strategies and New Services & Solutions at Olivetti Tecnost, Chief Technology Officer for a start-up company in the Getronics group, Integration Services Director at Getronics/Wang Global/Olivetti Olsy. Mr. Adriani earned a Degree in Informatics at the University of Pisa, Italy.
Conrad Mallon, Operations Director at XConnect has over 20 years experience in Information Technology, the last 13 of those in the Telecommunications Sector focussed on next generation Service Provioders. Conrad has worked at the leading edge of VoIP and Softswitch network architecture for the last eight years and has been responsible for the formulation, development and deployment of VoIP platforms at Level(3) and Interoute. More recently Conrad has been working with Skype, PointOne in North America and Algerie Telecom on developing new offerings in the VoIP market. Conrad has successfully run complete business units as well as building and managing teams involved in engineering design, implementation and product management, he has long term major business relationships with many of Europe’s key carriers and equipment suppliers.
Fabien MAISL is Director of Marketing for Thomson’s Software Service Platforms Activity, developing VoIP softswitches, IPTV middleware and IMS core-network platforms. Fabien brings over 15 years of international experience in positioning and launching innovative products in the telecom market.
In prior position, he was Product Marketing Manager with CS Telecom, Director of Marketing with Netopia Europe and Product Marketing Manager with Apple Europe. Fabien holds a master degree in networks engineering from the French National Institute of Telecommunications.
Finbarr Coghlan is Head of Product Management at Accuris Networks. He is responsible for the strategic direction of all Accuris products such as AccuROAM, AccuPROFILE and AccuGUARD. Prior to joining Accuris Networks, Coghlan was COO of Voxpilot, an Irish company delivering IMS-Ready, VoiceXML and Video-In-VoiceXML technology to enterprises, integrators, carriers and service providers. An electronics engineering graduate of University College Dublin, Finbarr has 20 years’ experience of roles in software engineering, consulting and management roles in a number of telecommiunications technology companies, notably Motorola, Alcatela and Logica Aldiscon.

Started as Developer and System Engineer for PBX software. First contact with VoIP as SW developer for a PBX in 1998. Deeply involved in development of SW for a VoIP-switchboard of a PBX.
Moved to US, Silicon Valley, in 1999, worked at a start-up company (bought by a big telecoms-vendor) on system- and software design for a VoIP based PBX that won several “best of show” awards during that time.
Joined mobile communications industry in mid 2000 (max.mobil in Austria, renamed to T-Mobile Austria later). Involved in preparations for 3G (license auction, vendor selection, contract negotiations).
Moved on to T-Mobile International (Austria) end of 2002. Worked on core-network related mid- to long term issues, also involved in standardisation (3GPP, SA1 and later SA2). Heavily involved in IP and VoIP issues as some of the major topics for core network evolution.
Moved to T-Mobile International Headquarters in Bonn 2/2006. Head of Core Network Architecture, responsible for mid- and long term evolution of TMO core networks. Personally involved in the NGMN-initiative right from its beginning in 2005 and up until today.

Hassan M. Claussen has been working in the Telecoms and IT market for over 15 years. In the early 90’s, Hassan was heading sales & marketing operations in Hamburg (Germany) for one of the largest IT Consultants, Telemation (acquired in 2000 by Dimension Data). After 17 years experience in the Telecoms and IT markets, Hassan M. Claussen founded HanseCom Media & Communication in November 2004.
With HanseCom he is now working in the event management and organization industry specializing in the telecommunications and IT industry. Together with his team, Hassan focuses his expertise in developing profitable events, handling projects from design and research, to marketing and sales, through to speaker acquisitions and management running up to and on the day of an event.
José M. Caballero (jose.caballero@trendcomms.com) is the International Marketing Manager for Trend Communications Ltd., Maidenhead, Berkshire, England. He has an M.B.A., and holds a B.S. and an M.A. in Computer Communications. He has also been Developer and Communications Consultant at IBM, Director of Telecommunications at the UOC University. JMC is an acknowledged expert in next-generation networks as he has published multiple articles, whitepapers and several books on these subjects in the U.S. and Europe. During the past ten years he has given more than 100 international lectures, seminars and conferences on IPTV, VoIP, Triple Play, NGN, SDH/SONET, and Carrier Ethernet Networks.

Before joining BT, Manuel launched a company in the security sector, specialising in technology applied to intelligent buildings, with customers in government, defense and other major industry sectors.
He has a degree in telecommunications from the Universidad Politecnica Madrid. He and his wife Cristina have two sons, Rodrigo and Pilar. In his spare time he enjoys running, trekking in the mountains and playing Wii with his sons.

Marc Jadoul is Marketing Director in Alcatel-Lucent's IP Transformation Center (IPTC) in Antwerp, Belgium. Since he joined Alcatel in 1992, Marc has held several management positions in research & innovation, product management, marketing, strategy, business development, and solutions consulting for fixed and mobile service providers worldwide. Marc holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Free University of Brussels. He is a member of the Alcatel-Lucent Technical Academy and a frequent speaker and panelist at seminars and industry conferences.

Graduated in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Instituto Superior Técnico in 2005. His first contact with voice over IP occurred during his final thesis project "Desenho de IVRs para Operadores Telefónicos" (Design of IVRs for Telephony Operators), at INESC ID's Spoken Language Systems Laboratory.
Marco's professional career started at Link Consulting, SA where he developed Video and VoiceXML IVR pilots with Speech recognition and synthesis, as well as VoIP solutions integration based on Asterisk and OpenSER.
In November 2006, due to his growing interest in voice over IP and Open Source based solutions, he became the first Digium Certified Asterisk Professional in Portugal. Later on he joined TV Cabo - PT Multimedia VoIP Management and Supervision team for the kick-off of the telephony service. The experience with the cable operator "Triple play" was extremely rewarding. Working with this European leader provided a unique opportunity to familiarize with, and learn, Voice over Cable's architecture and systems.
Since November 2007 Marco has joined the Portuguese National Foundation for Scientific Computing, on a project named VoIP@RCTS. Main goals for this project are to establish a Voice over IP network to interconnect all the telephony systems from Portuguese Universities using FCCN's high speed backbone, and to interconnect safely with Telco's Operators.
Marie-Paule Odini brings years of telecom experience including voice and data. After managing HP world wide VoIP program and HP wireless lan program, she is now in charge of HP IMS SDP solutions for SOA Telecom and next generation converged services. Since joining HP in 1987, she has held positions in technical consulting, sales development and marketing within different HP organizations, both in France and in the US. All of her roles have focused on networking or the service provider business, either in solutions for the network infrastructure or for the operation. Mrs Odini holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University Prior to joining HP, Mrs Odini spent five years with France Telecom research and development labs, defining architecture and value-added services for corporate customers, working with standard bodies and industry forums as well as with France Telecom operational and marketing organizations. She enjoys skiing and outdoors in general.
Mark has been with Interoute for almost 5 years, during which time he has grown from an initial responsibility for Interoute’s content delivery and content protection businesses to overall responsibility for all network applications. These include the design and build of the wholesale and corporate voice products and the underlying platform infrastructure. His mantra is to interwork engineering platforms and software development to create market addressing products. Mark products have won a string of awards, including the WCA 2007 for Best Content Service, the IWA 2007 award for Live Streaming, and the Global Telecoms Business Award 2007 for Best Voice/Data Convergence for the Interoute One product.
Patrice Hervouet is responsible for Nominum's deployment of products for the IMS and FMC markets in EMEA. He brings to Nominum over 20 years of experience in Telecommunication market.
Prior to Nominum, Patrice was at Sonus Networks where he headed technical activities in Southern Europe and Middle East pioneering the adoption of NGN and IMS in the carriers and ISP market.
Patrice came to Sonus after spending over 4 years with Ascend Communications assisting Carriers and ISPs to build their Internet access architecture.

After graduating at the University of Vienna with a law degree in January 1999, the military service, nine month law practice with national courts in Austria and about seven months with Arthur Andersen he joined RTR-GmbH in April 2001. Since then he was responsible for all legal matters concerning Numbering, Naming and Addressing. Because he is not only a lawyer but also a technician (mechanical engineer) he worked in close collaboration with the technical department on the matters of VoIP, ENUM and so on. In October 2007 he left the legal department and is now with the CEO’s Office.
He was involved with VoIP since the last four years within RTR. After the consultation on VoIP in summer 2005 he worked together with the technical department on the Guidelines for VoIP in Austria which were announced in October 2005. The Guidelines clarify the position of the Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications with regard to the regulatory treatment of VoIP services in Austria.
Furthermore he was also involved with ENUM since the first consultation on this topic in August 2001 and the start of the Austrian ENUM Field Trial. In 2004 he did the draft and negotiations of the ENUM-Contract between RTR-GmbH and ENUM.AT together with the head of the technical department and his colleagues there. This contract enabled the start of the commercial phase of ENUM in Austria in summer 2004. In 2006 an addendum to the ENUM-Contract was signed enabling the possibility of carrier ENUM in Austria and in 2007 with a further addendum to the ENUM-Contract the duration of it was extended for two more years.
He has also written several publications about Numbering, Naming and Addressing, ENUM, VoIP, prepaid phones and is Co-author of the Austrian NRA’s Customer Handbook on telecommunications and the Handbook on VoIP in Austria from the NRA (January 2006) and is also a regularly speaker at national and international conferences throughout Europe.
